New MetLife Life Survey of the American Teacher: Teachers, Parents and the Economy

March 9, 2012

The new Met Life Survey of the American Teacher ( 2011) illustrates extremely critical points of concern.

One third of US teachers: the most valuable element for student success in our schools, report that they may abandon the profession.

This, along with a majority of parents and teachers despairing about the reduction of services and staffing of schools, is an urgent call for our nation's leaders to increase their attention and actions toward adequately funding and supporting our nation's schools, valued teachers and leaders, and the students of today and tomorrow.

We cannot wait to take action.
