Networks in New York City, San Antonio and Los Angeles Accepting Applications
School Leaders Network (SLN) is now accepting applications for the new program year. Starting in September, Networks of 12-15 school principals will meet monthly throughout the school year. Through a collaborative and structured process, SLN develops K-12 school principals into highly effective instructional leaders who are empowered to transform the culture and instruction in their schools and increase student achievement. Since 2006, more than 850 principals have experienced the benefits of joining SLN, a unique program - of, by and for principals - impacting over 640,000 students nationwide.
New York City
Over 160 K-12 principals, or nearly 10% of all of the principals in New York City have participated in School Leaders Network (SLN) programming. SLN Principals in Brooklyn, Queens and The Bronx have impacted over 118,000 students, raising student achievement, graduation rates and school climate and culture across the city. For more information about SLN and Networks in NYC, contact Dr. John J. Jenkins, SLN Regional Program Director, at 646-436-9642 or jjenkins [at] connectleadsucceed [dot] org
SLN opened its first Network in Los Angeles in January 2011 and is expanding its presence there this fall. Janette Tovar is working with district and charter leaders and would like to hear from principals, assistant principals, and district/CMO leaders thinking about principal professional development in Los Angeles. She can be reached at 323-308-0284 or jtovar [at] connectleadsucceed [dot] org
Over the past five years, nearly 150 principals across the city have come together to support one another in their growth as instructional leaders. In San Antonio last year, 122 principals were active members in the eight networks there.
