Raise Your Hand Texas & W.L.S. Spencer Foundation Award Grants

June 30, 2010

SLN is pleased to announce new partnerships with Raise Your Hand Texas and the W.L.S. Spencer Foundation, and the receipt of grants from both organizations.

Raise Your Hand Texas (RYHT) funding will help expand SLN’s presence in San Antonio where there are now five networks serving over 80 principals. The grant will make it possible for more principals in San Antonio, specifically in the SAISD, to participate in SLN Networks for the SY 2010-2011.

RYHT is a non-profit, bi-partisan advocacy organization made up of business and community leaders, parents, taxpayers and concerned citizens, all with a single focus: supporting the more than 4.5 million students in the Texas public education system.

The W.L.S. Spencer Foundation has awarded SLN a generous grant to support our general operations. This will allow SLN to continue to build the infrastructure to sustain our national presence. The mission of the W.L.S. Spencer Foundation is to fund activities, anywhere in the world, which foster new and innovative ideas in education.
